Ok, now most companies don’t care about the earth or energy use. Well Google has taken it to the next level. I think this is awesome. Check this website out.

They even putt solar panels on top of there building (see it here) and are trying to save some money. They also try to get employees to bike to work or ride a company transit to save them on gas. They also give $5000 rebate to employees to buy a car that gets 45mpg. That’s crazy!!

Yet another reason why I want to work for GOOGLE!

training on the west coast

Hello Everyone!
I am reporting from the west coast. I am currently in San Mateo, California for work. I have been in training for two weeks now and wow. It has been two long weeks! Never the less it has been a great trip. Training has been going great and the group of people from Nashville that I will be working with are awesome. We are all completely different and it has worked out great. I couldn’t believe how great we all got along.

Work
Well training has been entertaining. All the other groups, from New York and San Mateo are awesome. We all have been getting along great. We all go out and act like we have known each other for a couple of years. Its pretty cool. A couple of th guys and me are going to try a yearly thing where to take a trip somewhere and just hangout. Training has just been from 8:30 to 5:30 every day and some days we had bocce ball, a town hall meeting, and just some other free time.

Nights and Weekends
Just about every night has been fun. We have gone around to all types of different restaurants. Every night has been a different group of people going to eat. Some people from San Mateo, some from New York and some from Nashville. It has been a great mix of people. These people that I have met here in training are some great people. I had a whole weekend to explore. Saturday we went down to Pier 39 and hung out down there and then went to the Golden Gate Bridge! Before we went to the bridge, we went to Lombard and drove the street that curves back and forth.

Okay, for the record! TV, pictures, and words can not describe the bridge. When driving across it, it was so big. I never thought it was that big.

Saturday night went back downtown and hung out in the city. Their are some great places to eat, but we ended up going to this place called In and Out Burger. If you ever go to one, order this.. Double Double Animal Style!! It is soo good!.

Sunday was great! Went down to Pebble Beach, CA. I got to walk a little bit of the golf course. That golf course is so amazing. I mean, it was like a carpet, just nice and soft.

Overall
Two last two week have been great. I met some great people and made a lot of new friends.

new way of living

So I have settled into my new apartment and started my new job and everything is going great. I am working with a great group of people. All energetic and fun. I believe I am going to like working here a lot. Got a long weekend coming up and I will probably be doing some traveling. I will let you know how the rest of the week and weekend goes. I still don’t have cable or internet at the apartment. Yes I know its weird for me not to have theses items, but I am managing it for now. Hehe.
